Capturing the wonders of Dubai and Qatar
I recently got the chance to travel to Dubai and Qatar, and while there was no shortage of spectacular vistas for me to photograph, from the soaring buildings of Abu Dhabi Creekside to the serene grandeur of the Grand Mosque (which proved to be my favourite place)…. at the end I found the place to be ‘shallow’.
Street Photography in Vietnam: A Journey Through History
I recently got the chance to travel to Vietnam as a photographer, and I was absolutely floored by the incredible street photography opportunities the nation has to offer. Vietnam is a photographer's dream, from the busy streets of Hanoi to the ancient beauty of Hue and Hoi An.

Some weeks ago I was in Gozo with a group of friends and in our spare time I was roaming around in the main city of Rabat (mainly) and some shots in Nadur, capturing whatever caught my eyes.
Street photography at Cospicua (Bormla)
Some two weeks ago I had an extra hour in my hands and therefore decided to go an explore some part of Malta which I felt I would love to re-explore with a new perspective. Alistair Floral Design - Papal Visit
Alistair Floral design contacted me as it had been trusted with providing the florals and landscaping/decor for the sites the Pope will be visiting over his visit in Malta. They were looking for behind the scenes shots and shots of the team setting up on site, as well as the end product. I could not say no. Not only was this a very interesting project with a different but also it would give me a great opportunity to have access to the Pope’s location and document his trip from my view point.
Atelier del Restauro
While I was on my assignment, documenting the floral arrangements for the Pope’s visit, I was asked I could also cover the mounting on the Papal altar of the important and venerable Icon of Our Lady of Damascus pertaining to the Greek Catholic Church, Valletta. The important and venerable icon of Our Lady of Damascus, venerated in the Greek Catholic Church of Our Lady of Damascus, in Valletta, was brought from Rhodes to Malta in 1530 by the Order of Knights Hospitaller of St John. The icon was conserved and restored between 2019-2021 by Atelier del Restauro ltd.
Pope Francis in Malta
In this assignment I was able to access and document the trip of his Holiness in Malta. It was a truly a pure photographic and spiritual journey to be able to cover the events of the visit of Pope Francis in Malta in first person. At the end of the weekend my body was tired but my heart was overflowing with joy.
A critical review of some of my street photographs
As a passionate photographer in Malta, I intend to try to give you some additional value by aiding you to improve your photography. I usually look at one of my images and can quickly tell if I like it or not, however at times I am not able to describe why. I have therefore relooked at some of my street photography images (which I shared here https://www.soulfulimagery.com/blog/vivian-maier-photography-for-the-sake-of-photography) taken this month and tried to deconstruct them and comment on why I consider that they work well.
Vivian Maier - photography for the sake of photography
The question we photographers have to ask is do we just do photography just for the love of photography? Not because you need to or are asked to or are commissioned to - but just for the fun of it. This is what I intend to do more freely in this website and blog. I can here express my sentiments with you - both visually and through words.
